West Virgina, er, Virginia, Mountaineers Win NOT, er, NIT

The West Virginia Mountaineers defeated Clemson to win the NIT and were awarded special championship t-shirts that misspelled Virginia as "Virgina."

Incensed fans in Mogantown, er, Morgantown immediately responded by burning their sofas in the streets.

West Virginal, er, Virginia, residents should be happy that other potential misspellings of Vagina, er, Virginia, didn't make it to the silk screener's shop.

Today's Oneword - Leaf

Go to the OneWord website and write about today's word.

The first leaf of spring shot forth from the maple tree, the same one that would, six months hence, display fiery hues of red, yellow, and orange.

Today's Oneword - Delicate

Go to the OneWord website and write about today's word.

My feelings for Oneword were not delicate, at least while it was not listing new words. But I'm certainly glad that it's back!

My Lips Are Sealed

Kind of strange, for a blogger...

You Don't Have a Big Mouth

In fact, you like to keep your life very private.
You figure that your personal life is no one's business.
And if people try to pry, they'll end up unsuccessful.
You're a big mystery to people - and that's fine by you!

The Luxury Pizza vs The Big One

Almost a year ago, Scott's Spot commented on "The Big One," the world's largest commercially available pizza pizza, made by Mama Lena's Pizza in McKees Rocks, Pa. It's big, 55 x 37 inches, costs $99 and is cut into 150 pieces. I still get a lot of hits from that post.

I've never been to Mama Lena's, but I've never been completely happy with the pizza in the Pittsburgh area since moving here 21 year
s ago. There's certainly nothing to compare to the pizza from Papa Del's in Champaign, Illinois. But The Big One is cheap, 66ยข per piece, and that's what counts in Pittsburgh.

But today's post is about a different kind of pizza. From a different kind of place. For a different kind of pizza eater. It's about the Luxury Pizza, a $1,000 thin crust pizza topped with six sorts of caviar, fresh lobster, creme fraiche and chives. It's delicious. It needs to be ordered 24 hours in advance to ensure that the caviar is available. And it costs $1,000 for a 12-inch pie, which is cut into 8 slices.

The Luxury Pizza is the creation of Nino Selimaj, who runs six pizza restaurants in New York. "I know this won't be for everyone but there are people in New York who can afford it and once tried, they'll be back for more. It is delicious," said Selimaj, who moved to New York from Albania about 29 years ago. Nino's Bellissima is the only one of his restaurants to offer the Luxury Pizza.

One Luxury Pizza has already been sold in New York. But at $125 per slice, it is 189 times the price of The Big One, so don't look for them in Pittsburgh anytime soon
