WVU Awards MBA to Aunt Penny

In the wake of the controversy surrounding the awarding of an unearned MBA to Mylan Inc. executive Heather Bresch, daughter of West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin, West Virginia University disclosed that it had also awarded an MBA to Kenny Ross Auto spokeswoman Aunt Penny.

"Aunt Penny's practical experience as an automotive spokeswoman trumps the fact that she never cracked a book or even torched a sofa here at WVU," said WVU President Michael Garrison. "Ain't no way we're gonna rescind Aunt Penny's degree," said Provost Gerald Lang and business school Dean R. Stephen Sears.
