Grove City College Didn't Approve This Tuition Payment

One of the things that drove me nuts about Grove City College when I went there was the inconsistency of its rules. Female student gets pregnant - she's out. Male student gets female pregnant - that doesn't hurt our image, so no problem.

So now we have another similar situation, as described in an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, One of America's Great Newspapers: Male student acts in gay porn video - he's out. Student watches gay porn video (and I'll wager it's not the first he's watched using the college's network) - no problem - thanks for informing on the depravity of your fellow student!

The case involves John Gechter, of Philadelphia, who was suspended for one year pending appeal from Grove City College after a student saw him last month in a video posted online. Mr. Gechter performed using the name "Vincent DeSalvo." Gechter says he used his porn income to pay for his schooling.

Conservative Grove City College apparently approves of only a limited application of capitalism.

It interets me how many people bring up the fact that he paid for his tuition with this money. There are plenty of young adults out there (including myself) who are struggling to pay for college that have not resulted to acting in pornographic films. Also I would like to point out that, most likely, this guy was making way more money than he has to pay per semester at Grove City College. If you did your research you would find that Grove City is one of the most affordable private colleges in the country. There is no reason that this guy could not have summer job working for minimun wage just like the rest of us.

A person's principles should keep him from acting in pornographic films, regardless of the money. Hard to believe you're faulting him about the the money, though. I have kid in a college that's less expensive than Grove City, and believe me, he needs more than a minimum wage summer job to pay for it!
